Tumblr isn't a bad choice for a portfolio site, but one thing to consider is that you'll be at the mercy of the Tumblr platform in terms of uptime,site visibility, and other things that could affect visitors' ability to find you. The recent "adult blogs" debacle is an example of the kind of thing I must agree with you, art is against every concept of "necessary", "enough", "waste". In its simplest form, every painting is a waste of materials that could be better used for survival. But we NEED to waste those materials because we need to represent concepts, we are not monkeys. 6. Is Tumblr Blaze worth using for Artists? I have a tumblr account, and I draw as a hobby. I've grown to like tumblr because even if I don't get as much interaction as I do on deviantart or reddit, the interaction I do get feels more personal, and thus more satisfying.
